Microsoft's recommendations for Windows 7 SP1 installation

MSDN and TechNet subscribers and volume licensing customers have access to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, next week, that is, February 22, ordinary users can go to Microsoft Download Center Download Center, or automatically get it through Windows Update. Microsoft made a few suggestions today, users who will install SP1 can refer to it.

First, if you just want to upgrade a PC or your home PC, then Microsoft recommends that you get SP1 push through Windows Update instead of downloading it from the Microsoft Download Center or using the online installation package. Windows Update will give you the best installation experience.

Second, before installing Windows 7 SP1, it is best to back up your PC or important files to an external hard drive, DVD/CD or network.

Third, it's best to make sure that your device drivers are up to date;

Fourth, it's important to disinfect your machine before installing it, if your machine is infected. Virus, then this will affect your SP1 installation and future upgrades;

Some other notes:

— Make sure it is connected to the power supply when installing Windows 7 SP1 on your laptop;

— Windows 7 SP1 needs to be restarted after installation;

— Windows 7 SP1 installation requires more hard disk space. If space is not enough, you can use Windows 7 built-in disk cleaning tool to get more More space;

To save disk space, after installing Windows 7 SP1 (preferably a few weeks later), you can use the Disk Cleanup tool to remove the SP installation files, open the Disk Cleanup tool, and select "Clear System Files". "Service Pack Backup Files" is fine (but the consequence of this is that Windows 7 SP1 cannot be removed from the PC in the future). As shown below:
