WIN 7 delete the old system backup windows.old folder

Yesterday to the bedroom of the small Yang children's shoes heavy WIN7, installed the system found that the C drive turned out to be nearly 40G, under normal circumstances, clean WIN7 should not exceed 10G I ran to c:\\ and saw a folder named windows.old. Since the previous system of the children's shoes was Vista, when installing WIN7, microsoft children's shoes defaulted to the original system to back up to c. The :\\windows.old folder is below. Since you have already used win7, the old vista is of course not needed. Right click to delete, the result is of course not.

My method is:

Open "Start" -> "Program" -> Attachment

Then right click on cmd, in the pop-up shortcut menu Select "Run as administrator", so you run cmd.

as an administrator. Then it's very simple:

1

rd /S /Q c :\\windows.old

Note that after running the command it will prompt that some directories are not empty, leave it alone.

After the command is completed, run the above command again.

This basically deletes the files under the windows.old directory.

Finally run the above command again, after this time, even the windows.old directory itself is also killed. OK, it’s done.

Then look at the C drive and find that there are 20 G less.

It seems that it is better to give the disk to the grid before installing the system, and save the gossip.
