Help you get back to Windows 7 disappeared search box

By default, after clicking the Windows 7 Start menu, users can pass "search programs and files" (that is, under Windows XP, everyone used to call it " The search box "Location" box searches for files or directly calls system components. Recently, some netizens described the problem in the email sent to the author: after installing a software and restarting the system, the "search box" at the start menu is gone (see Figure 1).

Users familiar with Windows 7 should know that above the "All Programs", the "Search Programs and Files" box for Windows 7 should be displayed. What software is installed causes this problem to appear, I am not interested in knowing, but we can retrieve the disappeared Windows 7 search box by modifying the system settings.

Go to the Control Panel and double-click Programs and Features. In the window that opens, click "Turn Windows features on or off" in the upper left corner (Figure 2)

In the dialog that opens, find and tick " Windows Serach" (Figure 3):

Next, the system will display the prompts shown in Figure 4 and Figure 5:

After the system prompts you to change your changes, restart your computer. At this point, the "Search Programs and Files" box will be back in place.

Edit Comment:

As in the Windows XP era, the system often has problems with installing or uninstalling certain software. Windows 7 seems to be no exception, but this is normal. For such situations, the user does not have to find the source of the problem and can solve it. After all, you will "get a lot" in the future.
