Win8 vs. Win7's 10 major features that are about to be lost

1. Start button

The Start button first appeared in Windows 95, and each subsequent version of Windows used this design. Windows 8 will remove the start button.
2. Start Menu

The Start Menu will also be removed to better support the full screen interface called “Start Screen”. This interface replaces the previous static icon with "dynamic block". However, the user can still open the start menu through the hotspot in the lower left corner of the screen or the Windows key of the keyboard.
3. Aero Glass

The Aero Glass theme appears on Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems. In order to work with the Metro interface, Windows 8 completely removed this theme.
4. Flip 3D

5. DVD playback

6. Windows Desktop Widgets

Top desktop gadgets such as calendars, clocks, contacts, exchange rate conversions, headlines, notes, stock quotes and weather will no longer appear in Windows Sidebar. However, many of these tools will be integrated into Windows 8's "Start Screen" in a new form.
7. Update Notifications

In the current version of Windows, users will be notified of updated releases through system icons and notification bubbles. In Windows 8, these update notifications will not pop up on the desktop. All messages related to system updates will appear on the login and lock screen. If you log in to the system automatically, you won't even see these messages.
8. Windows Media Center

Windows Media Center will not be integrated into any version of Windows 8 by default, and there are very few people using this feature. However, this feature will still be a paid plugin for the Windows 8 PRo version.
9. The recently opened document
<;Start screen" will not display the most recently opened document in any form. So in Windows 8, users need to use the search function to find documents.
10. Windows Backup and Recovery

The original backup and recovery functions were replaced by the function called "File History". However, this new feature only provides file-based backups, not system backups. In the current version of Windows, system backup is also rarely used.
