How to use Win8's own compression and extraction function

Compression and extraction (decompression) are often used in our daily work, so we will also use some auxiliary tools to complete the process. In fact, in the Win8 system itself has such a function, you can freely compress the file to reduce the space occupied, if someone sends you a compressed package, you can also freely extract (unzip) the file And do not rely on third-party aids. Let's take a look at how to use Win's own compression and extraction features.
Steps for compressing files or folders
1. Open “ Explorer by: swiping from the right edge of the screen to the middle, click "Search” (If you use the mouse, point to In the upper right corner of the screen, then move the pointer down, click “search”), type “investrator> in the search box, then click or click “apply”&&quoquo;resources Manager”.
2. Select a file or folder, click or click the "Share” tab, then click or click "Compress”.
A new compressed folder will be created where the file is located. You can rename this compressed folder just as you would rename any other folder. Simply select the folder, click or click the &#quo;home” tab, then tap or click “rename”.
Note:
Warning: If you add encrypted files to a compressed folder, they will not be encrypted after extraction.
If you want to add some new files or folders to your compressed folder after you have created them, you can drag them into the compressed folder.
Some file types, such as JPEG images, are highly compressed, so no further compression is required.
If you want to use password protected or adjustable compression for compressed folders, you can search for file compression applications online. Be careful when compressing files from the Internet installation files, as they may change your settings so that the files are not open in the application you want.
To compress a file or folder from the “command prompt" window, you can use the compact command. To learn how to use this command, type compact /hel at a command prompt.
Steps to unzip (extract) files or folders in a compressed folder
Open ; Explorer by: swipe from the right edge of the screen to the middle, click “Search”( If you are using the mouse, point to the top right corner of the screen, then move the pointer down, click “search”), type “explorer" in the search box, and then click or click “ ” and <;Explorer”.
To extract a single file or folder, open the compressed folder and drag the file or folder you want to extract to a new location. -or- To extract all the items in the compressed folder, click or click the "Compressed Folders Tool" tab, then click or click "Extract All".
Note:
If you try to extract all the items in the compressed folder without seeing the "Extract All" command, select the compressed folder, click or click the "Home" tab, then Click or click “properties”. Next to “Open With “ in the "General" tab, make sure that the "File Explorer" is displayed. If not, click or click “change" and select “File Explorer”. If you still don't see the "Extract All" command, the .zip file association in the registry may be corrupted.

Looking at the above operation method, is it also very simple and practical? As long as it is a common compression package, you can directly use Win8's own functions to operate. However, it should be noted that the Win8 comes with this feature to support a small number of formats, so if you encounter some unrecognized compression format, we still need to install a special compression extraction tool.
