Windows 8 System Network Connection Internet Settings Tutorial

First, PPPoE broadband access
PPPoE is a point-to-point connection based on Ethernet card, in popular terms, is the mode in which our computer is directly connected to the modem for dial-up Internet access.
In a computer that has not set up a PPPoE broadband connection, there is no connection information, so we need to create a new one.
First Step: In the Network and Sharing Center, click on the right side of the "Change Network Settings" setting "New Connection or Network", select "Connect to the Internet", click “ Next step & rdquo;.

If the computer has already connected to the Internet by other means, the following prompt will appear, click &ldquo ; set up a new connection & rdquo;.

▲Connect to the internet
If the computer has been set up with other network connections, this will display the user selection in the list to avoid duplicate creation of the same connection. Click “No, create a new connection", and then click “Next”.

▲Create a new connection
Step 2: Windows 8 will ask you the form you need to connect, provide "Broadband (PPPoE)" and "Dial", click on the two options we need "Broadband (PPPoE)”.

▲Connection Method
Step 3: Then enter the broadband account number in the “User Name” of the list, and enter the broadband password in “Password”. Home users generally need to tick "Remember this password"; you don't need to enter the password repeatedly when you connect again. Check the "Show characters" to see if the password you entered can be checked correctly. “Connection name”You can use the default or you can make a dazzling name yourself. If there are multiple users on the same computer, it is recommended to check "Allow others to use this connection".

▲Enter ISP information
Click "ldquo;" in the end, if the broadband user name and password are not entered incorrectly, and the hardware device is running well, you can use broadband Internet access.
Small Tip: After setting up the broadband connection, turning the computer off and then on will not automatically connect. The easiest way is to click the network icon in the tray, select the broadband connection in the right side of the pop-up network, and then click “Connect”

▲Broadband Connections
When we change Internet Service Providers (ISPs) or no longer use PPPoE broadband connections, we need to modify or delete broadband connections.
Open the Network and Sharing Center, click on “Internet Options” in the left sidebar, then select the “Connect” tab.

▲Internet Options
In the list of "Dial and Virtual Private Network Settings", you can see the saved network connection. If you need to delete, click on the right side and click on the right side. Delete & rdquo; If you need to modify it, click on “Settings  on the right.

▲ Dialing Settings
Here, you can not only modify the broadband account password, but also the proxy service settings.
Small Tip: If you are not interested in connecting to broadband or because of hardware and other issues, you cannot connect to broadband. When Windows 8 detects a connection such as broadband, it will try to connect and prompt on the desktop. At this point, we will “set the dial-up” regardless of whether the network connection exists or not, and never dial the connection<quo;
Second, wireless network access
If the computer has a wireless network card, you can let the computer connect to the wireless network and use the Internet. There are many advantages of wireless network access, such as minimizing the complexity of wiring and liberating the scope of computer movement. Of course, there are also bad places. For example, data transmission by electromagnetic fields is easy to cause packet loss, and network stability is also better. The cable is poor.
Windows 8 has a relatively large change in wireless network connection, abandoning the traditional pop-up window and using the right sidebar to connect to the network.
First click on the network icon in the tray and check if the flight mode is enabled in the right side of the pop-up network. If it is turned on, you need to close it. Then find the private wireless network SSID (Wireless Webcast Name) in Wi-Fi and click “Connect”.

▲Wireless connection
Then, enter the security key of the private wireless network in the white box. If you feel that the input is wrong, you can click the eye icon on the right to view the input, and confirm the error. Click “Next”.

▲Enter the password
If the network security key is entered correctly, the computer can already connect to the Internet via the wireless network, and you can start using it. Of course, there is one final step in wireless network connectivity, whether to enable sharing between computers and connect to devices on this network. In general, if two or more computers are connected to the wireless network and need to share files, printers, etc., click the second item. Yes, enable sharing and connect to the device for home or work network. & rdquo;, otherwise click on the first item "No, do not enable sharing or connect to the device for the public network".

Advanced use:
In the already connected network, right click can set “ show/hide the expected data usage”, “ /Do not connect according to the flow rate" The data usage can show or hide the time and cost of traffic from the very beginning of the network. Click “Reset" to reset the count to 0.
Settings for traffic-based or non-flow-based connections allow Windows 8 to determine whether to automatically launch Windows updates and download updated hardware drivers from the network.
Forget this network, you can let Windows 8 forget the password, sharing settings and other information of this connection, which is equivalent to <; never connected to this network.
Enabling or disabling sharing is the same as the third step of connecting to a wireless network, where manual modifications can be made.
View the connection properties, here you can modify the wireless network password and encryption method, as well as some wireless network connection settings.
Third, VPN access
Due to the Chinese network environment, sometimes we need to be blocked when accessing foreign websites (such as Facebook), then we need VPN access. The Chinese name of the VPN is a virtual private network. It is a technology for setting up a private network based on the public Internet, rather than a real network, so it becomes a virtual private network. Its main function is to provide secure and reliable network access, and has a strong ability to break through the network blockade.
VPN access, first need to apply for a VPN account at the VPN service site, this part needs the reader to explore.
After obtaining the VPN network account, the steps are similar to PPPoE broadband access, open the network and sharing center, select "Connect to the workspace" when selecting the connection option, and then click "Use my Internet connection" (VPN)”.

▲Create VPN
Finally enter the address provided by the VPN service provider in the Internet address, click “Create”

▲Create VPN
It should be noted that in general, the VPN service provider will provide the user name and password (usually the same as the registered user name and password) in addition to the Internet address. After setting, click the system tray network icon, you can see the VPN connection in the right sidebar, click “Connect” to enter the VPN network.
