Microsoft will release Windows 8 based embedded system

Microsoft today announced the latest version of its Windows Embedded product line, which is a Windows embedded system based on Windows 8 code development.

Microsoft said the system will be a cross-device Windows that can be used in mobile phones, computers and even cloud systems. It provides complete Windows application compatibility and energy-saving features. Embedded devices, including ATMs and e-newsstands, can be applied.

It is expected that the new version of Windows Embedded Enterprise v.Next will be released later than Windows 8, about the second half of 2012, when it will be directly supported by Visual Studio 2010, providing developers with an entry point.

Windows Embedded v.Next will support the new ARM architecture, and Windows Embedded Compact will continue to provide a powerful, streamlined real-time operating system and a complete toolkit for small embedded devices.
