Eliminate online and offline differences Win8 integrates with Windows Live

Today, Windows Live Engineering Team Vice President Chris · Chris Jones shared some features and conveniences of integrating Windows Live in Windows 8 on the Inside Windows Live blog. He believes Windows 8 integrates Windows Live services. It can easily eliminate the difference between online and offline for users.

First, Windows 8 prompts users to sign up for a Windows Live ID. If the user agrees, Windows Live will automatically save the user's Windows profiles, settings, and other key files in the cloud. Users can synchronize the above settings when logging in with any Windows 8 PC, ensuring that the same preferences are maintained on different PCs. Microsoft also promised to be able to synchronize between PCs and mobile devices running Windows Phone 7.

Windows 8 also seamlessly integrates with Microsoft's online storage site SkyDrive. Documents, photos, and other files created by users on their local PC can be saved on SkyDrive, and users can access files from any PC and even share files with other designated people. It is reported that Microsoft will continue to restrict most of the file storage space of SkyDrive users to no more than 25GB, but provide unlimited storage space for photos and office documents.

Windows 8 will further integrate the new Metro user interface, allowing users to access and share different online or offline information. Key services such as email, calendar, and contacts are displayed when the Metro is launched. The email function connects to multiple accounts, such as work and home. The calendar shows work and family appointments, as well as shows friends, appointments between family members, and meetings with colleagues in your Windows Live account.

Microsoft's new address book connects all of your users' contacts, including friends from Facebook and LinkedIn. The new Photos app in Windows 8 can display photos from users' local PCs, another PC, SkyDrive and other services.

Microsoft will also open Windows Live and SkyDrive to developers to integrate these services into their applications.

Last week, Microsoft demonstrated several new features in Windows 8 at the Build Developer Conference. Users who want to use the Live integration feature can download and install the Developer Preview version.
