How does Win 8 tablet prevent children from messing with files? Using disk quota to protect hard disk space tutorial

Compared with the computer, the hard disk capacity of the tablet is relatively small. Most of the current flat panels are equipped with 16GB or 32GB eMCC hard disks. Even if it is a 32GB hard disk, after installing Windows 8.1 and the space used for backup, the remaining space is generally There are only about 3GB~4GB left. Tablets can usually be connected to Wi-Fi download software or games. If you use them for "Bear Kids", you will have enough free space on your tablet.

So how do you prevent your child from messing around with files on the Win 8 tablet?

To control the child's valuable space without wasting the tablet, you can use the "disk quota" that comes with the system to limit it. First create a dedicated account xhz (standard account) for the child, then use xhz to enter the system, select the partition that needs to control the space (such as D drive), right click and select "Properties → Quota → Display Quota Settings", then in the window that opens Select "Enable Quota Management" and "Deny disk space to users who exceed the quota limit" and set the disk space that the user can use, such as 1GB and warning level (Figure 1).

(Figure 1 Enable quota limit)

After completing the above settings, if the tablet is to be played for children, use the “xhz” account to log in. After login, you can only use the remaining space of DGB 1GB. . If this limit is exceeded, if the child tries to download a game file larger than 1GB, the system will pop up a prompt for insufficient free space, and the standard user cannot change the disk quota (requires administrator privileges), so the tablet will no longer have free space. Insufficient trouble (Figure 2).
