What's new in Win8.1? One of the new features of Win8.1 is

One way to link Windows 8.1 is to restore the "Start" button in the Windows system "Desktop" mode. It appears again in the lower left corner of the screen, and the icon is still a small Windows icon. However, except for the position and appearance as before, the function of this button is different from the previous one. When the user clicks the "Start" button, it will display the start screen, the windows UI interface instead of the traditional start menu.

If you press and hold this button, it will display a complicated list of settings, many people may not be familiar with those features, only the professional technical department knows how to set them. Therefore, the new “Start” button does not give the user a familiar environment, but uses another way to direct them to a new environment.

In addition, Microsoft wants to use another way to attract traditional PC users, which allows users to directly enter the "face" mode after starting the computer. But like the "Start" button, this will not return to the previous state, but enter the Windows UI interface in a new way.

The biggest change in Windows 8.1 is that it allows people to use the features of the Windows UI interface in an easier way, providing better, more integrated search results and implying the future of personal computing. Direction of development.

Windows 8.1 offers a new feature that makes navigation easier. Users can enter the “All Apps” interface by simply swiping at the start screen. Swipe up and down to show all the apps already installed on your computer, not just those apps that users have set as their favorite apps. Previously, users had to swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and click another button to achieve the same effect.

Unfortunately, the "All Apps" page feels too cumbersome. A large number of icons fill up two screens at once. Although you can reorganize them by category or alphabetical order, too many quantities affect the ease of use of the system.

In the Windows 8.1 system, the search function is easier to use. You can access the search interface by swiping your finger from the right edge of the screen to the center or by clicking the search function under the Windows UI page.

Windows 8.1 can also run on smaller devices including Acer's Iconia W3. The Iconia W3 comes with an 8.1-inch display and a wireless keyboard. In the past, Windows 8 systems only operated on devices that were about 10 inches or larger.

But I don't have a cold for some new features, such as the ability to adjust the size of the split screen. On Acer and even Microsoft's own Surface Pro tablet, users can only split the screen into two, and the spacing between the two screens is fixed. After the upgrade, the size after splitting can be adjusted to one-third or two-thirds.

Another feature is the predictive text feature. When using certain applications such as Mail, the Windows 8.1 system can provide 3 predictive word options when typing on a virtual keyboard on the screen. For me, this feature has caused me more interference than help.

There is also a feature that turns the camera into a motion detector. Microsoft demonstrated this feature in an app called "Food and Drink", which allows users to swipe their fingers across the air. In fact, this feature is not very useful in practice, sometimes turning pages in the wrong direction or not responding at all.

Microsoft executives also previewed some of the new features that might be added to Windows in the future, including contextual understanding of in-app speech recognition and verbal questions.
