Second, open the Windows8 mail application

First, in the Windows8 start desktop, find and click the Windows8 mail application magnetic paste.

When you first enter the Windows 8 Mail app, you will be prompted to "Add Microsoft Account", enter the registered Microsoft account and password, and then click "Save".

According to the network situation, wait a moment to enter the Windows8 mail application. The initial screen is the mailbox of the Microsoft account.

Third, add other accounts

Windows 8 mail application provides Exchange Activesync (EAS), IMAP and POP three types of accounts in the list, but in fact POP accounts can not be successfully added .

So we first need to confirm whether to support EAS account or IMAP account in the help information of the mail service provider.

Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) is Microsoft's mail synchronization protocol that delivers emails quickly and efficiently, and supports mail, contacts, and calendar synchronization.

IMAP is a mail-only protocol. Compared to the POP protocol, IMAP can not download the content of the mail to the local area, and can directly control the mailbox.

These two types of accounts are added in much the same way. First, you need to move the mouse to the upper right or lower right corner, click “Set" in the side charm, and then click “ Account”.

Then in the "Accounts" list, the accounts that have been added are displayed, click “Add Account”.

Pre-installed "Hotmail", " Outlook" and "Google"", under "Other Accounts", the account types that other apps installed by the user can be associated with. For example, "QQ", "163 mailbox" and so on.

Select "Other accounts" here, of course, you can also use the account type that has been preset.

Choose an EAS account or an IMAP account.

It should be noted that most of the domestic mails have already opened IMAP accounts, and detailed instructions can be found in the mail help. The EAS account is currently used as follows (the latter server URL address):

In addition, Google closed in January 2013 The EAS function of ordinary users, it is not clear whether to support again in the future, so you can choose other service providers.

The contents of the IMAP account need to be filled in as shown above. The IMAP and SMTP server addresses are provided by the mail service provider and can be found in the mail help. Of course, after all the checks are correct, click “Connect”. The EAS settings are similar, so I won't go into details.

After the account is added, the Windows 8 Mail app will automatically start syncing the account email.

IV. Mail Operation

Right-click on the left mail account name and the following menu will pop up. “Sync” refers to updating with the mail server; “fixed to ‘begin & rsquo;” Earth people know what to do; “Mobile” can move this message to a folder ;“Marked as ‘unread’” is also obvious. There are three buttons in the upper right corner, which are to write a message, reply to the message and delete the message.

Clicking on the first button will pop up the page for writing emails, which is very intuitive and has no difficulty. Click the right mouse button and there are common functions for mail.

V. Account Modification and Deletion

In the process of adding an account, go to “Add Account”, you need to click the account you have added.

Then the account settings will appear and there will be a button to delete the account at the bottom.
