Windows 8 Customize Start Screen

Customize “Start”The screen is the same as the “Start” menu in Windows 7, and there is also a “Start” screen in Windows 8 and Windows RT. It puts all the information you care about in the same place. You can see the latest titles, live updates and messages with a glance at the tile, or you can open apps, websites, contacts and folders. Here's the quickest way to get to the &Startquo;start” screen: Use the touch function to swipe the right edge of the screen and click Start. Use the mouse to move the pointer to the top right or bottom right corner and then move it up or down Move down and click Start. (Or, point to the bottom left corner and click on it when it says “Start”.) You can also press the Windows logo key on your keyboard. So you can manage the “start” screens as you want, putting your favorite apps, contacts, and websites in the top and center. Here are a few options you can try. Creating tile stickers for your favorite contacts and locations is an app or content (such as a website, contact, or folder) that can be opened from the "start" screen. So if you have a website that you visit every day or a contact that is always chatting, you may need to create a tile for them on the "Start" screen to find them quickly. If you're experiencing a site, contact, or folder to add to the "Start" screen, please see the following method: To pin a site or contact in an app, open the app command and click “pin to &lsquo Start & rsquo; screen & rdquo;. To pin a folder, open it in File Explorer, long press or right click on it, then click “pin to ‘start & rsquo;screen”. Fixed or unpinned apps Some apps already installed on your computer may not be pinned to the &Startquo;start” screen. However, you can always fix them when you need them. On the "Start" screen, open the “Search" super button, select the app you want to pin to open its command, then click “pin to ‘start & rsquo;screen”. If you have an app that you don't use, you can unpin it from the “Start” screen. On the “Start” screen, select an app to open its command, then click “Start & rsquo;Start & rsquo;Screen Unpin “. Since the app is still installed on your computer if you unpin it, you can always find it again by the "Search" charms. Rearrange the tile and resize it To move the tile, drag it up or down and drag it to the desired location. (It is not necessary to long press the tile.) The tiles can be arranged in the desired way. Put similar tiles together, group all your favorites, or create a <quo;Work” group for your job application. Here's how to name a tile group: Touch the "Start& rdquo; screen with two or more fingers, then pinch your fingers to zoom out. (If you are using a mouse, click the “Zoom” button.) Select the tile group you want to name and click “Name Group”. If the tile is not suitable for the desired location, you can zoom in or out. Simply select the tile on the “Start” screen to open the app command, then click “larger” or “smaller” (Some tiles are not adjustable in size.)
