Explain the specific steps of implementing shared Internet access on Win2003

Many friends want to easily realize the function of sharing Internet access, such as the campus network that wants to learn well, or access foreign resources, but these need to pay traffic charges. Only then, we can skillfully find a server that can “go abroad” and use VPN+NAT to combine routing methods to easily share the Internet. Let's take a look at the specific steps.

The configuration method of Windows 2003 as a proxy server is as follows:

1. Turn off the firewall and use “<quo;   >;Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)” is set to “disallowed" state, otherwise routing and remote access cannot be enabled.

2. Open the "Routing and Remote Access" configuration interface in the "Administrative Tools" and select """(Local)" under the "Route and Remote Access" node (if No, you need to use "add a server" to create a), use the "Configure and start routing and remote access" under the "Operation" menu to open the installation wizard.

Normally there is only one network card (otherwise, no VPN is required), select “Customize Configuration" and continue, select “VPN Access”&&quoquo;NAT and Basic Firewall” and continue , complete the installation wizard.

3. A dialog box will pop up saying that the installation has been completed, ask if you want to start the service, and select “ is ”.

4. Optional steps: Select “XX(local)”, right click to open the "Properties" dialog box, select "“IP address assignment" under the "IP” tab" “Static address pool”, and add a private address range for VPN connections, such as 10.1.0.1-32.

5. Open “Computer Management” in “Administrative Tools>, select “System Tools”->“Local Users and ”->“Users”, Double-click the user who is allowed to connect to the VPN. In the User Properties dialog box, select the “Dial In” tab and select Allow access under “Remote Access Rights (Dial-in or VPN)”.

6. At this point, the VPN function has been configured, and the following will describe how to establish a VPN connection.

Select “XX(local)”->“IP Routing”->“NAT/Basic Firewall", right click and “add interface”, select To connect to the external network interface, usually "local connection", in the pop-up dialog box, select "ld public interface to the Internet", and select "Only enable NAT" on this interface, OK. (Do not add the interface to the local, otherwise it will not go up, the principle is not clear, Daren advice!)

At this point, the NAT configuration has been completed.

Above, we can use VPN+NAT to combine routing to achieve a very convenient proxy function. This method is suitable for a computer that can easily connect to the Internet, but other computers that are not in the same subnet can connect to this computer. The machine does not have full access to the Internet.
