File recovery after diskgenius accidentally deleted or misformatted

When files in the computer are accidentally deleted, or smashed by viruses, and partitions are styled, you can use this effect if you want to restore these lost files. In reality, when the operating system deletes a file, it simply marks the deleted file with the “delete flag” and marks the disk space occupied by the file data as “idle”. The file data has not been erased, and it is also quietly "lying" on the disk. As long as the file is deleted and no new files are created, the operating system does not write new data. The deleted file data will not be shredded. It is time to put them out through the affirmative skill.

The formatting operation does not take into account the original data content on the disk, nor does it delete the old file first. Different file system types, the specific operation content of formatting is also different. For FAT32, FAT16, FAT12 and other file systems, the file allocation table (FAT, fixed at the beginning of the partition, containing the location information of the file data) and the root directory are cleared during formatting. File data is generally not cleared. For the NTFS file system, there is no fixed location requirement for newly written data during formatting, but the write position does not change under normal formatting every time. Therefore, most of the old file data will not be overwritten, and there is still a lot of residual information for us to find the missing files.

This function is to re-discover the hierarchical structure of file data and folders by analyzing part of the information of the files remaining on the disk, so as to restore the file data.

For the case where the entire partition has been lost, please first refer to the "Search for Lost Partitions (Rebuild Partition Table)" function to search for the missing partition first. You can then use the <;file recovery" function to restore files in the partition after saving the partition table or without saving the partition table.

The performance of partition destruction is: when opening the partition in "computer
", the system prompts "unformatted" "“ needs formatting”, partition attribute Displayed as & ldquo; RAW & rdquo;, no files can be seen after opening the partition. In case of these situations, you can recover files by <=Error Formatted File Recovery” function.

This function supports hard disk partitioning of file system types such as NTFS, FAT32, FAT16, FAT12, RAID volumes, U disk, and memory cards that support these file system formats (such as SD card and XD card in digital camera). and many more).

To protect the partition being restored from being corrupted again, the software will read the file in the partition in read-only mode and will not write any data to the partition.

To start recovering files, first select the partition where the deleted files are located. Then click the toolbar button "Restore Files" or click the "Remove or Formatted File Recovery" menu item in the main menu "Tools" to open the file recovery dialog. As shown below:

Since the formatted file recovery is different from the recovery process after the file is normally deleted, we handle the two cases separately. The following is the specific operation method:

First, the recovery of the file is deleted by mistake:

In the Restore File dialog box, select “Recover the file that was accidentally deleted”.

If there is a write operation in the partition where the file is located after the file is deleted, it is best to check the <;extra scan known file type” option and click the "select file type” button Set the type of file to restore. When this option is checked, the software scans all free space in the partition. If a file of the type to be searched is found, the software will list these types of files in the “All Types” folder. In this way, if you can't find the deleted file in the normal directory before deleting, you can find it in the "all types" according to the file extension.

In many cases, even files that have just been deleted cannot be retrieved by the normal delete recovery function. This is because the important information of the deleted file is destroyed by the operating system
or the user's misoperation. This operation, which causes secondary damage, often occurs inadvertently. For example, after deleting some photo files by mistake, immediately open the “Resource Manager” to find the files just deleted in each directory and use the thumbnail preview function of Windows
. It is precisely this kind of operation that is enough to destroy a lot of important information of deleted files. Because the thumbnail preview feature generates a thumbnail cache file below the folder. There are many similar inadvertent operations. In this case, you must restore the file by "scan file type". Although the file name found in this way is named after the serial number, it can still be confirmed by the preview function or by copying it. Especially effective for restoring photos and Office documents.

Since the file type is slower to scan (all free sectors need to be scanned), it is recommended to search this once in the normal way without using this option. If you can't find the file you want to recover, rescan it in this way.

If the file system type of the partition being searched is FAT32, you can also tick the "Restore files deleted earlier" check box. Due to the characteristics of the FAT32 file system when deleting files, some deleted files may not be searched without a full scan. Since "Restoring files deleted earlier" is a long time, it is recommended to search once without using this option. If you do not search, you can search again.

Click the “Start” button to start the search process:

After the search is complete, the Restore Files dialog box closes automatically. The main interface of the program will display the searched files. Each deleted file has a check box in front of it, and the check box in the folder hierarchy on the left side is also added. See below.

For files and folders that cannot be identified, the program will put them in a memory folder called "lost files". If you can't find the file you want to restore in the original location, you can try to find the file in the "missing files" folder. Don't forget this folder when looking for files after recovery. It is very likely that important files to be restored are here.
