Microsoft announced at the Build 2016 conference that it will build Linux Bash in Windows 10, causing a huge stir. In the Windows 10 internal preview version of Build 14316, this feature is finally available.
After this experience, the Bash supports many commands for running Linux; currently, it is still very meaningful for programmer debugging programs, students learning Linux commands, etc., not to mention the future. The functionality may be more powerful.
The following small series for everyone to share Win10 Build 14316 enable Linux Bash environment graphic tutorial, a friend in need soon to refer to it!
Installing and Using Bash
In the Windows 10 internal preview build 14316, click on “Start”——“Settings" Enter the word "characteristics" in the window search box, and the "Enable or turn off Windows features" entry will appear, click to launch it.
The "Windows Features" dialog box will pop up, scroll down in the dialog window list until you find the "Windows Subsystem for linux (Beta)" option, click to select the front of it. Check box.
The next step is to download, install and apply the relevant components. After these operations are completed, the “restart now" button will be displayed and click on it to restart the computer.
Restart into the Windows 10 desktop, type: Bash in the Xiaona search box, and click on the "Bash Run Command" entry at the top of Xiaona, and press Enter (or click) to start it.
A window similar to the Windows traditional cmd.exe interface will appear, prompting that this Bash comes from Ubuntu, and you need to download the relevant file, type “Y” will start to download from the Microsoft store. Type “Y” here and the download begins.
After a period of downloading, Ubuntu's Bash installation is complete, and the prompt becomes:
root@localhost:/mnt/c/WINDOWS/System32#
After the "#” number, you can type the Bash command to test.
Deleting Bash's Trial
Uninstalling, I found that using Windows 10's normal uninstall application method, Bash cannot be deleted. For example, if I click the "Start” button, I will find a recent addition called “Bash on Ubuntu on Windows”, right click on it, and then click “Uninstall” in the right-click menu.
Windows will open the "Programs and Features" dialog in the Control Panel, but there is no such thing as "Bash on Ubuntu on Windows".
Continue with the 1st & mdash;3 steps in the previous column, disable the "Windows Subsystem for linux (Beta)” feature; then click "Start”——“Bash on Ubuntu on Windows”, Windows will prompt that the Bash.exe referenced by the project does not exist and asks if the item should be deleted.
After confirming the deletion, the "Bash on Ubuntu on Windows" project disappears from the Start menu.
The above is Win10 Build 14316 enable Linux Bash environment graphic tutorial, the operation is very simple, you can follow the above steps, I hope to help everyone!
