Win10 build 11102 mutation Build 14251 in the end what is going on?

The Win10 RS1 Desktop Preview 14251 is now being pushed to the Insider Fastpass user as a test system with some known issues, some of which have existed in previous versions.

A few days ago on the BuildFeed website, we suddenly found that the compiled version of Windows 10 Redstone has changed suddenly. The previous day was Build 11107, and it turned into Build 14251 in a blink of an eye.

Today, Microsoft is pushing Build 14251 publicly, but it is not even the same as Build 11102. It doesn't have any new features at all. It's just a bug fix.

What the hell is going on? Gabriel Aul, the director of Windows Insider internal testing, answered this confusion:

It used to be a completely different operating system for Windows PC and mobile. It was carried out by different teams according to different plans and different schedules, but in In the Windows 10 era, Microsoft unified them, shared the code base, and the external display version number remained the same.

So, the official version of Windows 10 PC is Build 10240, and the Windows 10 Mobile version is not the official version at the time and is also labeled Build 10240.

In order to welcome the next unified release, Microsoft decided to unify the version number of the PC and mobile platform after completing the related work. Now the version number of the mobile version is too much, so the PC version can only jump once. Finally came to Build 14251.

At present, the updated Build 14253 has appeared on BuildFeed.

As for the controversial Windows 10 Mobile when there will be an official version, Gabriel Aul did not give a clear answer, just said earlier this year.
