Some Win10 users spit: power consumption is getting faster, heat is getting worse

A new report from Brad Sams states that Windows 10 is now installed on more than 81 million devices. As PC makers begin to ship notebooks and tablets pre-installed with this system, analysts have predicted that Win10 users will break 100 million by the end of the month. This is the efficiency that Microsoft has never achieved before.

Of course, even with 7 million Insider members still participating in the beta, helping to fix bugs, Win10 will inevitably have some problems in the face of such a high number of users.

According to Softpedia, editor Bogdan Popa found that his Lenovo T400s notebook appeared to have a faster battery consumption and increased fever after upgrading Win10. Specifically, within 5 minutes of the cold start, the notebook began to overheat and the battery life dropped to 40 minutes.

As a comparison, when using Win8.1 and Ubuntu, the fever is not so serious, and the battery life is up to 2 hours.

The report said that after searching the web and Windows feedback, they found that hundreds of users who participated in the test reported this problem to Microsoft. One of the users reported that they were running Windows 8.1. Compared to the Surface Pro 2, after upgrading Windows 10, the battery life is greatly reduced, and the power consumption is faster. This user feedback has received hundreds of votes.

Microsoft has not yet responded to the problem of battery life and overheating of some Windows 10 devices. Softpeidia recommends that users turn off unwanted background processes to alleviate these issues, and note that the data tracking service that is always running in the background is disabled.
