Win7 method of creating environment variables in the command prompt window

An environment variable is an object with a specific name in the operating system that contains information that will be used by one or more applications. In the design and development work, it is often necessary to create new environment variables. Creating environment variables under Win7 system usually needs to be set in the command prompt window. You can also directly switch to the “Advanced” tab on the computer panel to set the environment variables. The specific operation method is slightly different from WinXP. The following small series is explained in detail through the graphic.

First, on the Win7 system start menu, click the Run dialog box, and then enter the CMD command in the Run window to open the Command Prompt window. Then enter the set path command in the command prompt window to view the settings of the Path environment variable.

Second, if you want to create an environment variable, such as creating an environment variable named aa, enter the set aa=c: command.

Third, if you want to delete the environment variable, for example, the environment to be deleted is changed to aa, then enter the set aa= command.

If you use the command character to set the environment variable, then this method is only valid for the current running window. After closing the running window, the setting will not work. The way to set environment variables using the computer panel is permanent and effective. These two points need to be noted. The above is the specific method for creating environment variables in Win7. I hope this knowledge can help everyone.
