How to turn off LAN sharing


1. In "Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares." is set to "Enabled". Right click and select "Properties" as shown below:

Select "Enabled", then click OK, as shown below:

Description: Use the ipc$ channel to establish an empty connection, anonymous Enumerate how many accounts the machine has. Obviously there are certain security risks. It is recommended that you do not allow empty connections. This will improve the security of stand-alone dial-up Internet access. The negative effect is that LANs cannot communicate with each other.

2, "Account: Local account with blank password is only allowed to log in to the console." Set to "Enabled", as shown below:

Description: Many people's accounts are not password-added. When another computer in the LAN accesses the machine, an error message will pop up: Login failure: User account limit..........This is caused by a security policy of XP system, preventing others from entering your computer when you are empty password.

3. Find "Account: Guest Account" and set it to "Disabled". In addition, you must: Click Start - Settings - Control Panel - Windows Firewall - Exceptions, and uncheck "File and Printer Sharing."
