Each time you manually install a new hardware driver, you can enter the location of the installation file yourself, or you can select the path you have used from the drop-down list. Stored in the registry, we can add, delete, modify these paths by modifying the registry to achieve more customization purposes.

Let's take a look at the solution in Windows 2000/XP/2003: Run the registry editor, open the subkey: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows CurrentVersionSetup] (If there is no such key value, please create a new one), create a new multi-character The string value "Installation Sources" is the specific path to set the driver installer. Please note that the "Installation Sources" key-value item is of type "multi-string" instead of "string", so if you are using Windows 2000, you must use the Regedt32.exe editor to properly modify this key-value. And if it is Windows XP/2003, you can use Regedit.exe to edit directly, because Regedit.exe of Windows XP/2003 has integrated the functions of the previous Regedt32. In addition, in Windows 9x/Me, there are similar techniques, but the modified subkeys, key values, etc. are completely different, please open the subkey: [HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTInstallLocationsMRU] (If there is no such key value, please create a new one. ), first create a new string value "MRUList" to set the display order of each driver in the class table, then create a string value named a, b, c to set the specific path to the driver installer.
