1. Protect your password

Even if you believe in your friends, you should cut your cards when you play cards together. By the same token, even if you are confident in your memory, it is best to save a boot disk with a password, so that if you forget the password, you can have a convenient solution. The specific steps are, first, find a blank floppy disk that has been formatted, then type "Control Panel /User Account" in any resource manager window or the address bar of the IE window and press Enter. In the "User Account" In the window, select your account, in the related task list, click "Block a forgotten password", and then follow the prompts of the "Forgot Password Wizard".

2. Bypassing forgotten passwords

If you are not preparing a boot disk with a password and then logging in with another account that manages the original level, open it as described in section 16. User account "Setting interface, select the account that has forgotten the password, click "Change Password", and then follow the prompts to reset the new password.

If you are unable to log in with another administrator-level username, please restart your computer and press the "F8" key when the Windows startup logo appears to enter the Windows boot options screen. Use the up and down keys to move to “Safe Mode” and press the Enter key. When you see the welcome screen, select Administrator (this is a hidden account and no password is required by default). The next steps are the same as described in clause 17, resetting the account password and finally restarting the computer.

3. Become a Power User

In Windows 2000 Chinese, it is called a user with high authority. When you log in to the system as an administrator, your system is vulnerable to malicious programs such as Trojan horses. When you log in to the system as a "Power User", you can avoid many dangers, and you usually need to use the same functions as users who manage the original level. Of course, if necessary, switch back to the administrator level. More convenient.

To set up Power User, follow these steps: Select "Start" /"Run", type "lusrmgr.msc" command line and press Enter to enter the "Local Users and Groups" window, click "Group" on the left. , then double-click "Administrators" on the right. Here you need to confirm that there is another account in the "Members" list, that is, you can use this account to log in to the system when you need to fully manage the original level of permissions. Select the account you want to downgrade and click "Delete" * "Confirm". Next, click on "Power Users" * "Add" on the left, type the name of the account you specified, and finally click "Confirm" 2 times.

4, when a temporary administrator

Power user can run an administrator-level program, such as the Lusrmgr.msc program mentioned in the previous article 3, without having to log out and then administrator Level account re-login. The specific operation is, in the Explorer, hold down the "Shift" key on the keyboard, then right-click the program or shortcut you want to run, select "Run Mode" from the pop-up menu, and then select "Below" Run the program as a user (under Windows 2000) or "The following users" (under Windows XP), then type the administrator-level user ID and password you want to use (and type the domain name if necessary) Finally click "confirm".

5, Using the Network Installation Wizard for Windows

6、Installing a Wireless Network

When you insert a wireless network adapter into your computer, XP will automatically pop up a “Connect to Wireless Network” dialog box. Right-click on the wireless network icon in the system tray, then select "View available wireless networks" from the pop-up menu, select the wireless connection you specified, and finally click the "Connect" button. If you don't see this icon, type "Control Panel/Network Connection" in the address bar of the "Explorer" or folder window, then right-click on the icon for the wireless network connection.

7. Connecting to a non-secure wireless network

If the "Connect to" button in the "Connect to Wireless Network" dialog mentioned in the 6th tip is not available (grey) The network may be missing "privacy protection as opposed to wired connections" or a newer version of "Wi-Fi Protected Secure Connection". If you want to solve this problem, you can turn on the "Allow me to connect to the selected wireless network, even if it is not secure" project. However, it should be noted that at this time, your privacy protection may be problematic.

8. Do your own wireless network connection

By default, Windows XP will automatically set your wireless network connection parameters, which is called "Wireless Network Zero Setting Function" by XP. But if your wireless device comes with your own driver, you'd better turn this off for Windows. To do this, double-click the Wireless Network Connection icon in the Network Connections window (as shown in the 6th tip), or click on the reduced version of the icon in the System Bar. Select "Properties", then in the "Wireless Network Connection Properties" dialog box, click "Wireless Network", close "Use Windows to configure my wireless network", and finally click "OK".

9. Quickly switch accounts

If your computer has enough memory, you can quickly switch from one account to another without first logging out of the first account. The specific steps are as follows, click "Start" * "Logout" * "Switch User". This feature is very useful when you need to use another account right away, saving you time. But then you don't like this feature, because using this feature can lead to a lag in system operation, especially when you are running games, system tools, or other programs that consume a lot of system resources.

10, Turn off the fast user switching function

The "Fast User Switching" function mentioned above has another disadvantage. When you use this function, you can't use Windows' offline. Offline Files feature, which automatically downloads web pages for offline browsing. If you want to turn off the "fast user switching" function, you can type "Control Panel /User Account" in any of the "Explorer" or IE browser address bar and then press Enter, then click "Change" in the "User Account" window. "How to log in or log out of the user", close the "Use Fast User Switching" item, and finally click "Apply Options".

11. Close the account instead of deleting the account

If an employee wants to leave the company and leave the company for a long time, you need to change the account settings for security precautions, but you are the most Ok, don't delete the account directly. This is because when the account is re-established in the future, the employee's account permissions are not configured in the past, and the employee cannot use his new account to access his own encrypted file. If you think an account may still open in the future, you may want to close the account instead of deleting the account as follows (this feature is not available in the Windows XP version of the Come): Press Windows-R , type "lusrmgr.msc" and press Enter. Click on the "Users" folder, then double-click the account you want to close, open the "Close this account" item, and finally click "OK". If you want to reopen the account later, just close the project again here.

12. Retaining files for deleted accounts

If you are very certain that an employee's account will no longer be used, you can completely delete the account and save his user files. The specific steps are: log in to the system as an administrator-level account, type "Control Panel /User Account" in the address bar of "Explorer" or IE browser, and then press Enter. Next, select the account name you want to delete, click "Delete Account", then click the "Keep File" button, and finally click the "Delete Account" button. After these operations, although the employee's account has been completely deleted, his desktop settings and all the files in "My Documents" will be saved in a new folder on the desktop of an administrator account. It's important to note that the employee's email and other settings are completely gone forever after the account is deleted.
