Use the system file checker

  
        

If your Windows is not quite normal recently, have you thought of using the System File Checker? The System File Checker detects the integrity of operating system files and can restore them if they are corrupted. You can also extract compressed files (such as drivers) from the installation disk. Also, the System File Checker can back up existing files before restoring the original files. You can also customize your search criteria based on folder and file extensions. Here, the author makes a brief description of the use of the "system file checker".

Open "System File Checker"

1. Click "Start" → "Programs" → "Accessories", point to "System Tools", and then click "System Information" to open System Information window.

2. Click the System File Checker in the Tools menu to open the System File Checker dialog.

Check System Files

1. In the "System File Checker" dialog box, select the "Scan files for errors" checkbox.

2. Click “Settings”, the “System File Checker Settings” dialog box will pop up, in the “Settings”, “Search Criteria” and “Advanced” tabs, after specifying the required options, Click the "OK" button.

3. Click the "Start" button.

At this point, the System File Checker scans the changed system files. If the file is found to be corrupt, you will be prompted to restore the original file. Perhaps, after you restore the original file according to the prompts, your system is in good condition, and there is no such problem.
