Restoring the operating system boot failure is as simple as that

The author's computer is equipped with Win2000/XP three sets of operating systems. Because of the more use of WinXP, Win2000 is used for office use. The Win2000 system is more and more unstable for a long time. In order to continue working, Win2000 is reinstalled. Operating system, I never thought, Win2000 is good, WinXP can not be used, and the result of this loss makes me cry. After careful study, it was found that this was due to the Windows XP system boot OS Loader being overwritten, causing them to fail to boot.

Tip: OS Loader (Multiple OS Bootstrap) is a unique part of the Windows NT kernel, which is not available in the Windows 98 kernel.

What is even more terrifying is that in the process of installation, if the disk partition table MBR is inadvertently damaged, all the data on the disk will be lost.

Small Tip: MBR (Master Boot Record) is what we often say "hard disk master boot record". Simply put, it is a piece of data written by the disk partition command such as FDISK on the absolute 0 sector of the hard disk. It consists of three parts: the main boot program, the hard disk partition table, and the sector end flag word (55AA). The size of these three parts adds up to exactly 512 bytes = 1 sector (the hard disk is fixed to 512 bytes per sector). Therefore, people also visually refer to the MBR as the "hard disk master boot sector." The other sectors on the hard disk track of this sector are generally vacant, and the disk track of the sector is not within the partition range, and then the content of the partition is followed by the content of the partition (that is, if the disk is per track) The number of sectors is 63, so the content of the partition is from the absolute 63 sector).

If you want to worry about playing multiple operating systems, you can use DiskGenius to back up the MBR partition table and OS Loader. When you need it, you only need to click the mouse to solve the problem.
