Win10 usage share accounted for 0.16%, 64-bit Windows 8.1 grew rapidly

Computer Store News: Data released under the Valve Steam hardware and software survey. As of the end of November 2014, Microsoft's latest operating system Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 share a total share of 30.05%, compared with 29.68% of the previous month, a slight increase. This result counts both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. According to the data, 64-bit Windows 8.1 grew the fastest, with a usage share of 23.49%, an increase of 2.06%. The share of Windows 8 continues to decline —— this means that more and more players have upgraded to Windows 8.1.

These data are collected by Valva Steam's game client, which counts and measures hardware and software usage data on a monthly basis. This data (and other data) can indicate the market share of the operating system when an operating system plays games through the Steam platform.

According to the data, 64-bit Windows 8.1 grew the fastest, with a usage share of 23.49%, an increase of 2.06% compared with the previous month. The share of 32-bit Windows 8.1 usage has not changed. But the share of Windows 8 continues to decline, indicating that more and more Steam players have upgraded to Windows 8.1.

In addition, in the November statistics, 64-bit Windows 10 first appeared, with a share of 0.16%. It is foreseeable that this data will see a substantial increase after the consumer preview in January 2015 and the official release of the system. 64-bit Windows 7 is still a popular choice for Steam players, with a usage share of 47.68%. However, compared with the previous month, it fell by 0.10%.
