Win8.1 cancels the "Windows Experience Index"

Computer Store News: This morning, Microsoft officially released the Windows 8.1 preview operating system. In addition to the start button return, the easier-to-use "Magnetic" interface, and improvements for high-resolution screen optimization, we also noticed such a small detail: the Windows Experience Index was cancelled.

Before we install a new machine, we will always look at the “Windows Experience Index” and measure the computer hardware level, including the processor and memory. For projects such as graphics cards and hard drives, each project will receive a sub-item score, and the final base score will be determined by the lowest sub-item score. In general, having a higher base score usually means that the PC is running better and faster than a PC with a lower score.

The Windows Experience Index" was first introduced by Microsoft in the Windows Vista system, with a maximum score of 5.9. This feature continued in Win7 and increased the score to 7.9. At Win8, the score has further increased to 9.9.

At this time, it is uncertain about the specific reasons why Microsoft canceled the "Windows Experience Index".

There is no "Windows Experience Index" in the Windows 8.1 preview.
