Win8 market penetration speed is slower than Win7

November 28th news, according to foreign media reports, compared with the initial period of Windows 7 sales in 2009, the early market penetration speed of Windows 8 does not seem to be faster than the early market penetration of Windows 7.

A recent online activity survey conducted by sales intelligence firm NetApplications showed that only one percent of UK computers use the Windows 8 operating system. This data does not include the Windows RT system, which is currently the operating system that comes with the Microsoft Surface tablet itself.

In addition, the survey asked the question of whether Internet users in the UK plan to upgrade their operating systems. Of these, only 39% said they would like to eventually update their operating system to Windows 8. Of the users who are willing to update, only 2% said they plan to use the Windows RT system.

13% of respondents said they plan to use Windows 8 tablets, while another 13% of respondents said they are willing to use iOS devices. Android has won 14% of respondents in this survey, and these respondents tend to choose Android tablets.

From the current situation, Windows 8 seems to be experiencing some problems encountered in the early stage of the market before finding its foothold. This survey has indeed become a reminder of Microsoft's overall comprehensive advantage in the operating system field, as the survey results show that 45.56% of computer users still use Windows 7 system. Surprisingly, 39.5% of computer users still use Windows XP. Despite Apple's great success in the tablet industry, Apple's Mac OS operating system has a market share of only 1.96% in computer operating systems.

It is understood that consumers and businesses have a moderate evaluation of Surface, and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer also admitted that its sales volume is also "moderate". The Prime Minister of the Windows Department, Steven Simnovs, left Microsoft at the beginning of the month.
