Computer Store News Microsoft officially released Windows Embedded Standard 8 (embedded Win8 system) community preview version second edition download. Windows Embedded will be used for ATMs, phone booths, car dashboards, and more. The latest preview includes the Metro style app launcher, Kinect for Windows compatibility, and the developer's gesture filter.
Microsoft said that the Windows Embedded 8 Enterprise Edition will be released in three months (just after Windows 8 is completed), and the Standard Edition will be available in the first half of the year after Win8 is released. Windows Embedded 8 is now available in the latest CTP 2 release to test IE10, NFC support, security enhancements, and create Metro style apps.
