How to modify the Windows 7 registry in XP?

When using Windows 7 recently, the registry was modified by mistake, causing an error in booting and not entering the system. Enter the advanced boot mode selection & ldquo; restore the last correct configuration & rdquo; still can not boot. Although there is a habit of backing up the registry, it cannot be imported. Fortunately, dual systems are installed and maintenance can be maintained in XP. But everyone knows that this direct modification is to modify the XP registry, not Windows7, then how to modify the Windows7 registry in XP?

In Windows, the registry is actually in the form of a file. As long as we find the specified registry file, we can modify it. The registry body in Windows is saved in the windows\\system32\\config folder.

Start XP, open the registry, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click on File, and select Load Hive.

Locate the windows\\system32\\config folder. At this point, you will see several files without system suffixes. These are the registry files. For example, to modify the settings under system, select system. Just enter a name such as abcd in the item name and you will find that there are more abcd items under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Now just modify it and you're done. Here's how to import the registry that has been backed up, open the backup .reg file with Notepad, and replace all the systems inside with abcd. Here is a trick. In order to prevent characters with the same name, it is best to set the replacement field to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\system”, replace "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\abcd\\”, and double-click import after the replacement is complete. Finally remember to uninstall the hive.

Restarting into Windows 7, finally seeing the long-lost desktop!
