What if the disk partition does not support 4g files?

The current disk partition does not support 4g files. That is, your disk partition file system is in FAT32 format. The FAT32 file system does not support large files larger than 4g. It can be changed to NTFS format.

Learn about the file system format: FAT16: We used DOS, Windows 95 to use FAT16 file system, and now commonly used Windows 98/2000/XP systems support FAT16 file system.

It can manage partitions as large as 2GB, but each partition can only have a maximum of 65,525 clusters (the cluster is the configuration unit of disk space).

As the capacity of the hard disk or partition increases, the space occupied by each cluster will become larger and larger, resulting in waste of hard disk space.

FAT32: With the advent of large-capacity hard drives, FAT32 has become popular since Windows 98. It is an enhanced version of FAT16 that can support partitions up to 2TB (2048G.

FAT32 uses smaller clusters than FAT16, which effectively saves hard disk space.

NTFS: Microsoft Windows NT A disk format designed by the kernel's family of operating systems, specifically designed for management security features such as network and disk quotas, file encryption, etc.

With the popularity of Windows 2000/XP with NT as the kernel, many individual users NTFS is used.

NTFS also stores data files in clusters, but the size of clusters in NTFS does not depend on the size of the disk or partition. The reduction in cluster size not only reduces the waste of disk space. It also reduces the possibility of disk fragmentation. NTFS supports file encryption management to provide users with a higher level of security.

Specific operations:

1. Click "Start → Programs → Attachment → Command "Prompt (This is a DOS-like interface built into Windows XP, all internal instructions are basically the same as under DOS).

2. After opening the window, at the cursor prompt Enter "covert C:/FS:NTFS" and then back Note that there is a space after the "covert".

3. Then the system will ask you to enter the volume label of the C drive, and then press Enter. The volume is labeled "My Computer" and then the C drive, then Look at its properties can be found (such as "local disk", it is best to change the volume label to a simple letter in advance to facilitate input). This can simply convert the partition format to NTFS. This method is only used to convert FAT32 to NTFS, not Convert NTFS to FAT32.

Experience summary: Conversion to NTFS format is supported. FAT32 format is not supported.
