Windows 2000 installation diagram

1. In the Windows 98 system, insert the win2000 CD. Since the CD is automatically running, the dialog box shown below will pop up:

2, here , we do not choose to upgrade to windows2000, click the "No" button to return to the installation dialog, and click "Install windows 2000" to start the installation, as shown below:

3. At this point, the installer pops up the protocol dialog box, asking if you accept the agreement, accept, go to the next step, do not accept, exit the installation. Undoubtedly, we clicked "Next" & rdquo;, chose to accept the agreement, as shown below:

4, At this step, the installer performs the detection system, and Make the necessary installation files to the C drive and other temporary directories, and restart the computer after 15 seconds.

5, the computer restarts, enters the blue WINDOWS2000 SERVER installation interface. The installer has three options:

a, to start installing WIN2000, press ENTER

b, to repair WIN2000, press R

c, stop WIN2000 and exit the installation Program, press F3

6, press Enter, select the first option “ To start installing WIN2000, press ENTER”, the program enters the installation directory selection window to determine the drive letter to be installed. If you want to install Windows 2000 with a disk partition that has not been partitioned by the hard disk, press the C letter on the keyboard. If you want to delete the highlighted disk partition, press the D key on the keyboard. We press Enter and select the C drive, as shown below:

7. The program enters the next window, prompting to select the format of the file system. Come out, there are three kinds:

a, format the disk partition with the FAT file system

b, convert the disk partition to NTFS

c, keep the existing file system ( No change)---Default

If you find that the selected disk partition is incorrect, press ESC Break to return to step 6.

Since NTFS is the most efficient disk file system format for NT series platforms, press Enter when the first option is highlighted. Windows 2000 will take a few minutes to check the disk space to make sure there is enough space to install Windows 2000.

8. Copy the file to the WIN2000 installation folder --- wait for a while. The files needed for the installation are copied. At this point, we can go to the ninth step.

9, after the installation program initializes Windows 2000 configuration, restart the computer (do not press Enter a few seconds, the system will automatically restart the computer, it is very helpful for people who are temporarily off or lazy. 10, Next, the regional settings installed at the bottom of the installer, the default system area and user locale are (China). Keyboard layout, also defaults to Chinese (Simplified) - American keyboard keyboard layout. To make changes, you can customize the settings.

11. The installer enters a window that asks you to enter personal information, including the name and name of the company or organization.

13. Fill in the computer name: The installer provides text input to determine the user's computer name and other settings. Here, you need to declare that the installer creates a user account called Administrator (System Administrator) that has full control over the computer. When determining this account, the installer asks the user to enter "System administrator password" and "Confirm password (ie, enter again)". 14. Click the "Next" button with the mouse to pop up the date and time. Settings dialog. After confirming, press Enter. 15. At this point, the system has a network settings dialog box.
