Explain the solution to the bad sectors of the hard disk

We all know that the probability of a hard disk failure is not great, and hardware failures such as hard disk board burnout are also caused by the user's very operation. However, in the maintenance work of the computer, the bad sectors of the hard disk often encounter hard disk failures, and most of the failures are bad sectors on the surface of the disk. How should we solve the problem of bad sectors on the hard disk? We will use examples to explain the problem of solving problems in detail today.

Since most hard disk failures are caused by bad sectors on the surface of the disk, the circuit board of this part of the hard disk is good. In the CMOS settings of the boot, the disk parameters can be detected. If you discard these hard drives, it is a pity. In fact, bad sectors generally appear in the beginning of the hard disk. Through the processing of the PowerQuest partition software PartitionMagicd, by properly adjusting the partition, bypassing these bad sectors, and reducing some capacity, except for the space that is distributed near the bad sectors is not available, these hard disks can be used normally.

Usually, we can fix the "bad hard disk" in several cases:

First, the boot error occurs and cannot be started normally. This situation may not be "bad", usually clear MBR, and then re-partition is 70% good. The second is that it can be partitioned normally, but it can be formatted, but the scan finds that it is marked with "B”", which is commonly referred to as "out of bad sectors". Here, regardless of the "physical bad track" or "logical bad track", "less", there are basically 80% can be repaired as "good hard disk". Third, it is not possible to partition properly, or it can't be formatted after partitioning. In this case, professional maintenance software is used, depending on the brand, the repair rate is different. Generally it reaches about 50%.

In addition, some hard disks are seriously damaged, too many bad sectors (some disks can not exceed 3,000, some can not exceed 8000, some allow more than 10000), the solution is to remove the problematic head, Or reduce the capacity, while changing the model, it is also a usable "good hard drive". This can greatly improve the repair rate!

So, what is the difference between the repaired "good hard drive" and the unrepaired hard drive? Answer: no difference to the user, non-professionals Can't see the difference! Because the manufacturer's technology is used to repair, the manufacturer's technicians may not see the difference!

A Pentium4 machine, using an 80GB hard drive, starts the Windows XP system and stays on the splash screen. The hard disk is constantly "咔咔", it is obvious that the hard disk has a problem. This hard disk is divided into three disk partitions: C (20GB), D (30GB), and E (30GB). The C drive is the system and application software, and the D and E drives are user data. According to this situation, it can be judged that the C disk in which the system is located has bad sectors.

Unmount the hard disk as a slave disk to another machine with PartitionMagic 4.0 partition software installed on the C drive, run PartitionMagic, select Disk 2; reduce the capacity of the first partition at the starting position. 1GB (more or less, estimated according to needs and actual situation!), the rest are unchanged; confirm Apply, the program after completing some work under Windows, restart the system, do the rest of the work under DOS; If you need to run the Drive Map dialog box, choose not to do it! Shut down the system, remove the hard disk, use it as the main disk, and return to the original machine. It is found that the Windows system starts normally, after entering the system, the application The program is running normally and the hard drive is working properly.

A Pentium 4 machine with 120G hard disk has almost the same failure phenomenon as the above. The hard disk is divided into four disk partitions: C (20GB), D (20GB), E (40GB) and F (40GB). The C drive is the system and application software. The other partitions are set on the extended partition. Because of the previous experience, follow the above steps. After selecting Disk 2, it is found that there is a check failure at the first partition, and the capacity of the first partition is reduced by 1 GB at the starting position. After confirming Apply, the data of the partition is started to move, and when it reaches about 45%, it appears. “ In the **** address error, can not continue the dialog box, the program can no longer run.

The author began to wonder if the data in the bad track affected the mobile partition? It is possible. First delete the first partition, delete it, re-run PartitionMagic, reduce some capacity at the starting position, reduce 3GB (move more space!), set the remaining space as the main boot area, confirm the Apply, go to At around 45%, there is a dialog box in which the **** address is in error and cannot continue.

Is there any other way? This situation is likely to be caused by the boot sector of the hard disk. It may not be possible to make the primary boot partition at the beginning. This is possible! Delete the first partition. 20GB is vacated at the end of the F drive, and the extended F partition is also vacated by 20GB in the corresponding position. The vacant 20GB space is created as a main boot partition and set to be active! After PartitionMagic is processed smoothly, again There is no error message. Note that after the hard disk is connected back to the original machine, the drive letter of the newly created main boot partition at the tail is still the C drive, formatted, reinstalled system and other software, everything is normal.

Although the hard disk has bad sectors, we can still use it through repair, but the appearance of bad sectors also means that your hard disk life will not be too long, so you should do a good job of backing up important files. Hard drives are valuable and data is priceless.
