The files on the computer can't be piled up too much. Sometimes you need to do some cleanup properly. However, when cleaning up, you can't rule out the deletion. If this happens, how can you quickly retrieve the deleted files?
First, free software
There is a section on the GiveAwayofTheDay website called EASEUS Data Recovery Software, which can help you recover files. If you missed this complimentary software, you can also get a completely free data recovery software called Recuva.
1. The file name can be changed
For example, you have a report file called "2008 Termination Statement", but you can't find it when you perform file recovery. That's because it became its DOS file name when it was restored, or even a ghost name that I don't understand. Some file names are quite weird.
In addition to finding deleted files based on your last visit date, you can also find the file type. For example, a word document ending with *.doc.
2. Files edited before deep search
Have you ever had such an experience and lived a day on a project, but found that the results of the previous two days have been destroyed? Kinds of things happen to each of us. At this time, if you have a backup, it will be your security. Deep Search can list the same-named documents edited by previous dates, so you can revert to the documents you created on Tuesday or any day.
I used to do this when I was working on a software development project. I did a backup every day, but then I found out that my backup was corrupted, so I used another recovery software to recover the documentation I created two days ago. This not only saves me time, but also saves me the pain of tracing the content that has been modified.
3. Files recovered from RAID disks require special attention
This is a prompt for network administrators. If you are trying to recover files from servers and workstations with redundant disk arrays or mirrors, you need to be extra careful.
Disconnect the server from the network.
Turn off disk mapping.
Close virtual memory or move to another (standalone) disk.
What happens if you try to recover a file that is being accessed or being written? As a result, you will get a pair of junk files and cause more files to be lost. Sometimes I can suffocate your customers … Oh, I am joking. The most important point is that you just want to access the data on your disk through the recovery software, that's it.
4.Recover files to different hard disks
When performing file recovery, never restore files to the disk on which they were previously located. In other words, you can restore the file to a memory stick (a memory chip from Sony) and a server instead of the previous C drive. Why is this? Because when performing file recovery, you are likely to overwrite the file you are trying to recover.
You can look at this problem like this: When you restore a file, it necessarily requires a certain amount of hard disk space. But you don't know which hard disk space it will use for storage. After the previous file is deleted, the hard disk it is on makes room for the file to be stored when needed. Imagine that you are trying to recover files 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. When you restore file 4, it overwrites file 5, and you will never have a way to restore file 5. So be sure to restore the files to a storage device other than the one you are recovering.
5. Backing up your files
When other means are not useful, file recovery is your lifeline. But it can't replace file backups. Make sure you back up your files on a regular basis. Think about it this way: Does that way take you more time? Is it a new document or a direct backup of files backed up on a CDDVD, tape, memory stick or mobile hard drive? An expert only needs 15 A typical file recovery can be done in minutes. Can you rebuild a file you are editing in 15 minutes or less? If you can't, do a backup now!
Backup is also a good habit to promote in terms of computer usage. As pure data increases, the risk of data loss or misplacement is increasing. File backups give you peace of mind, and you know that even if important files are lost you can get them back.
Second, if the file can not be restored, what to do
Hope that the above can help you recover the file back. But if it doesn't work, then let's take it as a lesson. If you can understand the pain from rebuilding or re-purchasing the file, you will be more willing to back up the file in the future.
Backup is a good thing, not just the things that computer gamers in the back office will sing. We should all back up and back up frequently. May you find your documents.
Of course, these methods can help you retrieve the files that have been deleted, but you can't rule out that the files can't be retrieved. So please remember to be careful when you clean the computer or use the computer normally. The mistake occurred.
