Recovery Console Command Input Tips

Starting from Windows 2000, Microsoft provides users with a "Recovery Console" (hereinafter referred to as the console). Through the introduction of our previous articles, I believe you have already understood the emergence of Windows. Large faults, such as when the security mode is not accessible, can be started to save the system. Although the console and the previous DOS are similar in interface and usage, there are also many differences, so there may be some difficulties in using them. Let's introduce them below.

1. Long folder names must use quotation marks (")

Type a long folder name or a long file name in the console, which must be enclosed in quotes. Otherwise, "No such folder or file" will be displayed. For example, to enter the "C:\\Windows\\WindowsUpdate" directory, type the command: "cd c:\\Windows\\"WindowsUpdate"", or "cd c:\\"Windows\\WindowsUpdate"", or "cd " c:\\Windows\\WindowsUpdate"".

My experience: If you use the DIR command column directory in the console, the result will be the opposite of the previous DOS, that is, the file or folder name is listed at the end, the first is the creation time. . In addition, the ERUNT software introduced in "Computer Enthusiast" 16 and 18 is really great. There are problems when installing the software several times. The system blue screen cannot be started. I enter the console and enter the WINNT\\ERDNT folder. It keeps a backup of the system registry every day when booting up. Their folder name is "2004-11-03", so you have to enter "CD "2004-11-03"" when you enter. Recently this software has been upgraded, the download address is http://home.t-online.de/home/lars.hederer/erunt/erunt-setup.exe.

2. folder name contains spaces must use quotation marks (")

in the console to type a file containing spaces folder or file name, you must use quotation quotes. Otherwise, "Parameter invalid" will be displayed. For example, to enter the "C:\\Windows\\Windows Update" directory, type "cd c:\\Windows\\"windows update"", or "cd c:\\"Windows\\windows update"", or "cd " ;c:\\Windows\\windows update"".

3. Accessing non-Windows directories

By default, the console can only access Windows directories. To access other directories, you need to perform the following steps.

Step 1: Log in to Windows, click "Start → Run", type "Gpedit.msc" command and press Enter, click "Computer Configuration → Windows Settings → Security Settings → Local Policies → Security Options" , double-click "Recovery Console: Allow floppy copy and access to all drives and folders" and select "Enabled."

Step 2: Enter the console and type the "Set" command at the command prompt. After the carriage return, the screen displays:

AllowWildCards = FALSE

AllowAllPaths = FALSE < Br>

AllowRemovableMedia = FALSE

NoCopyPrompt = FALSE

Then type "set allowallpaths = true" at the command prompt and press Enter (note that there must be one around the equal sign) Spaces), you can access other directories. Otherwise, "No Access" will be displayed.

My experience: Recently, my computer is running very slowly. Check the Windows XP "Startup" item and find some more programs. Open the directory, there are two executable files, wincomm.exe and winlock.exe. After wincomm.exe runs, it will monitor itself in the registry startup key value and make winlock.exe run and monitor it at any time. Similarly, winlock.exe also monitors whether wincomm.exe is running, once it finds that the other party is not in memory. In the middle, it immediately makes the other party run. According to this principle, if it is a virus, antivirus software wants to clear it is difficult. I used the console to solve this problem easily. First set it up according to the above method, then use the CD command to enter the folder where the two programs are located, and then type: "del wincomm.exe" and "del winlock.exe", finally Get two programs that are difficult to delete.

4. Return to the previous directory

You must type the "cd .." command, you cannot use the "cd \\" command.

5. Be careful with drive letter changes

The drive letter may change in the console, for example, the location of the mobile hard disk may be advanced. To avoid operational errors, entering the “Map” command and pressing Enter will display all currently available drive letters, file systems, and space sizes, etc., based on this.

Tips

To exit the console, type "exit" at the command prompt to restart the computer.
