Registry optimization scheme

1, enable CPU L2 Cahce

to the registry HKCU_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Session Manager\\Memory Management, create a new Dword value:

SecondLevelDataCache, Modify this value to the size of your CPU's L2 cache, using a decimal value when filling in. You can change the CPU's Level 2 cache to 256KB by modifying the Dword value "SecondLevelDataCache" and restart the computer.

2. Modifying disk cache acceleration XP

Disk caching plays a crucial role in XP operation, but the default I/O page file is conservative. Therefore, it is better to use different disk caches for different memories.

To the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Session Manager\\Memory Management\\IoPageLockLimit, modify its hexadecimal value according to your memory (64M: 1000; 128M: 4000; 256M: 10000; 512M Or greater: 40000).

3. Remove the menu delay

Remove the delay when sliding out the menu, which can speed up XP to a certain extent. The key value to be modified is in HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop. The specific key to be modified is "MenuShowDelay", just change the value to 0. Of course, the changes will not take effect until you restart your computer.

4, specify the process order

simultaneously press the Control+Alt+Delete three keys, then click the "Processes" tab, you can see a dialog box, where you can See all the processes that are currently running. If you want to allocate more process time for a program, such as 3D Studio Max, just right click on the process, then move the mouse pointer down to "Set Priority" (Set Priority), then select the program you want. Which priority is in it. When I receive the email, I will set 3DMAX as "standard", but when I leave the computer, I will raise its priority to the highest "real time", so that the computer can focus on 3D actions more quickly and more quickly. .

5. Cancel the reserved bandwidth in Windows XP Professional

Because the professional version needs on the network, it sets a default reserved bandwidth of 20%. In fact, for individual users, these reservations Bandwidth is useless, and you can unreserve bandwidth by using the Group Policy Editor.

Enter gpedit.msc in Start → Run to open the Group Policy Editor. Find "Computer Configuration" → "Administrative Templates" → "Network" → "QoS Packet Scheduler", select "Limitable Retainable Bandwidth" on the right, select "Properties" to open the picture, select "Disable". This is very beneficial for users who use Modem - freeing up the reserved bandwidth to speed up the browsing and downloading of the Internet!

6, Windows XP does not check the scheduled tasks

Normally, When Windows XP is connected to another computer, it will check all the scheduled tasks on the other machine. This process will let you wait for 30 seconds, which is really annoying. Let's disable this process by finding

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer \\RemoteComputer\\NameSpace in the registry. There should be a key in it. Just delete it, restart the computer, Windows will not check the scheduled tasks, the speed is significantly improved!
