Microsoft announced Windows Server 2008 R2 final release date

I believe everyone knows the public release date of Windows 7, at the Computex 2009 conference in Taipei, Microsoft Vice President of OEM business Steve Guggenheimer and Windows Business Senior Vice President Bill Veghte announced Windows 7 will begin global public offering (GA) on October 22, 2009. The RTM version will be advanced from mid-August to the end of July. Will its server version of Windows Server 2008 R2 be released simultaneously with Windows 7? According to Windows The Server team just issued a statement, the answer is yes.

In the official Windows Server blog, Microsoft said: "As a server version of Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 have the same RTM and GA dates."

Microsoft further stated that the RTM version of Windows Server 2008 R2 will be available to Microsoft partners in late July, and its public release date is the same as Windows 7 on October 22.
