First, Windows Server 2008 installation

1, download ISO file

Later, during the installation process, the original iso file was found to include many versions such as standard and enterprise. Why not make it smaller? Some time ago I saw an article saying that Microsoft's subsequent Windows version will be very thin and thin. I can't see this thin trend now by Windows Server 2008.

2, installation

After downloading the package, there seems to be no good way to boot into the DOS environment. Also too lazy to burn the disk (COMBO drive, can not engrave such a large disk), fortunately there is a WinXP pure GHO file on the hard disk. So first restore the C drive to pure XP, save enough space, complete the installation of Windows Server 2008 under XP. This is also considered a "curve installation". After installing the C drive (has deleted the original system backup, ie windows.old) has about 6G. However, the installation speed is very fast, about 15 minutes.

3, install some Features

After installation, the default theme, audio and other services are not open, this is similar to 2k3. Open the theme service and find that the theme file that the original xp or 2003 can use is not so good. So I installed a desktop experience feature and got the vista theme. Because I want to use wireless LAN, there is a wireless network card in the network connection, but I can't find the wireless network. Later, I realized that I had to install a feature of a wireless LAN. It seems to be restarted once it is installed.

Second, downgrade to Vista, make Windows Server 2008 more suitable for personal use

1. To cancel login, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to log in.

1) Click on the desktop taskbar "Start -> Run" enter gpedit.msc in the pop-up window; click OK to open the Group Policy Editor.

2) Expand in the left frame of the Group Policy Editor ("+" in front of the point) -> Computer Configuration - -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local policy, then there are "security options" under the local policy, click "Security Options" in the box on the right to find "interactive login: do not press CTRL+ALT+DEL";

3) Right click on "Interactive Login: Do not press CTRL+ALT+DEL", click "Properties" in the pop-up menu, and click on the circle before "Enabled" in the Properties tab to select it.

4) After confirming a small black dot in the circle in front of "Enabled", click "OK" and close the window. In this way, you don't have to press the "CTRL+ALT+DEL" key combination to log in when you start the computer later.

2. Tips for canceling the reason for shutdown

gpedit.msc, computer configuration - WINDOWS settings - security settings - account policy - password policy. In this path, find "Password must meet the complexity requirements" set to disabled, "Password length minimum" is set to 0. This way you can create a blank password user account!

4, modify the IE security level is high
