To configure Windows Server 2003 as a LAN router, you must enable LAN routing. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Programs, click Administrative Tools, and then click Routing and Remote Access.
  2. In the console tree, right-click the server and click Configure and Enable Routing and Remote Access on the shortcut menu.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Routing and Remote Access Setup Wizard. For additional information about the configuration options available in this wizard, find the Universal Server Configuration in Windows Help.
  4. Right-click the server for which you want to enable routing, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu.
  5. On the General tab, verify that the Router check box is selected. Also verify that the appropriate option under the Router check box is selected according to the configuration selected in step 3.
