Open DirectX Acceleration

in Win 2003

Just installed Windows 2003, but now I find that many 3D games can't run. Only some traditional 2D plane games can barely run, and the speed is very slow. It feels that Windows 2003 is running very fast when running PhotoShop, but why can't I run 3D games?

This is not because Windows 2003 does not support 3D games, but the system settings. First make sure to install the graphics driver in the right way, then turn on DirectX acceleration. DirectX acceleration is the most basic requirement of 3D games. However, in order to make Windows Server 2003 more singular for server platform applications, Microsoft actually disables its acceleration function by default. Acceleration is not automatically turned on even after the latest DirectX 9.0 is installed, and must be set manually. Enter “dxdiag” in the "Start”→“Run” dialog to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. The DirectDraw, Direct3D, and AGP texture acceleration functions are then enabled in the display column. As a result, Windows Server 2003 can run a variety of 3D games. In addition, Windows Server 2003 also disables hardware acceleration by default, which you can set to full acceleration in the advanced menu of display properties.
