Clear Win 2000 default share

In Windows 2000 and above, the system automatically creates some resources for sharing according to the configuration of the computer, so that it can be used for management and the system itself. If the system password is not set or the password is too simple, some software can be used to immediately find the password of the computer and invade the computer. Now let's tell everyone how to disable these default shares.

An easy way to do this in Windows 2000 is to use the System Policy Editor, a feature that inherits from Windows NT. Select "Run" from the "Start" menu and enter "poledit" to launch the editor. From the File menu, choose Open Registry, and then double-click the Local Computer pop-up properties dialog.

There are two options under "Share" in "Windows NT Network": "Create a hidden drive share (workstation)" and "Create a hidden drive share (server)". Just remove the small hook of the corresponding option (as shown), press "OK", return to the system policy editor, select "Save", and finally restart the system to delete the default share.

Tip: Windows 2000 Professional system computers should be equipped with Windows management tools (including Poledit.exe). Access the i386 directory on the system installation disk and double-click Adminpak.msi to install it.
