First, restore the boot menu

If the computer uses Win9X/2000 multi-operating system, once Win9X is damaged, reinstalling Win9X will cause multiple boot menus to be lost. At this point, you can insert the Win2000 installation CD into the CD-ROM drive and set it to boot from the CD in CMOS. After rebooting, you can enter the boot mode of the Win2000 installation CD. After the installation program is automatically loaded, the system will prompt you to re-install or repair. At this time, press “F3” to exit. Win2000 will re-scan the operating system already installed on the computer. After restarting, you will see the restored startup menu.

Second, fast repair system

Although Win2000 has a much better stability than Win9X/Me, but the system has been used for a long time, it will inevitably cause problems. Similarly, after booting from the CD in CMOS, the Win2000 installation CD is booted. After a while, there will be a Chinese prompt message for you to choose whether to install or repair. Generally choose to repair and wait patiently for a while, after restarting the system, many problems can be solved.

Third, uninstall IE6.0 beta

If you have IE6.0 beta installed in your system, and you can't uninstall it, you can use Win2000 installation CD to repair Win2000. After the repair is completed, you will find that the IE6.0 beta has been replaced by IE5.0 embedded in the original system.

Fourth, flexible production boot disk

If you just want to use a disk in the Win2000 boot disk, such as the second disk, the third disk, etc., you do not have to use MAKEBT32 Or the MAKEBOOT program starts from the first one.

Under the BootDisk folder of the Win2000 installation CD, there are 4 files CDBOOT1.IMG, CDBOOT2.IMG, CDBOOT3.IMG, CDBOOT4.IMG, which correspond to the contents of 4 boot floppy disks, as long as we Find a releaser for the IMG format file. We can choose UNIMG or UNDISK, the author chooses UNIMG (Note: This software is available in the download area of ​​this site).

Copy the BootDisk folder and UNIMG program to the Win2000 installation folder, and ensure that the UNIMG program and the four IMG files are in the same folder. Enter the DOS prompt, enter "UNIMG CDBOOT1.IMG" in the folder, and understand the other 3 IMG files. After the completion, you will find that there are four CDBOOT1, CDBOOT2, CDBOOT3, and CDBOOT4 folders in this folder. The contents of the Win2000 Boot Disk No. 1 to No. 4 are available.
