Windows2000 comprehensive optimization (3)

Automatically close the program that stops responding

For the program that stops responding, you can modify the registry so that the system will not notify you, but will automatically shut down - no longer need the user Interventions to increase work efficiency. To do this, open the Registry Editor and find the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop, and change AutoEndTasks to 1. If you encounter a program that stops responding in the future, the system will automatically abort it.

Performance Options

Windows 2000 has slightly different memory management than Windows 9x - it can either optimize the performance of the application or optimize the background service. If your Windows 2000 is only used as a personal operating system, then the default choice of Windows 2000 is fine - Windows 2000 is optimized for the application by default.

In this interface, you can also change the virtual memory:

I have made a variety of changes to the virtual memory settings, but I found that the default value of Microsoft project has been It is optimized, unless your work requires a lot of memory, generally I suggest you do not need to change this default.

Microsoft also sets limits on the system registry size. I also recommend using default values here.

Optimizing the system with TweakUI 2000

Like Windows 9x, Windows 2000 also has a corresponding version of TweakUI. It can be used to quickly set up some items of the system. You can go to the celestial download center to download, only 77KB. After downloading, unzip the Zip package, right click on tweakui.inf and click Install. A TweakUI icon will be created in the Control Panel. There are a lot of options that can be adjusted. I just list a few commonly used and more effective items:

.MOUSE tags - can adjust the menu speed
.GENERAL tags - many here Options are useful for improving system performance.
.EXPLORER tag - can adjust for shortcuts
