Microsoft explains the new Windows 7/Vista downgrade

For OEM customers, Microsoft has provided a downgrade option for Windows

Business and Ultimate can be downgraded to Windows
XP, and now Microsoft will provide users with more convenient downgrade options. Original equipment manufacturers can now pre-install Windows XP Professional, Windows
XP Tablet PC Edition or Windows
XP x64 Professional Edition, but they need to meet the following additional requirements:
The system must have Windows
Vista
Commercial/Flagship Certificate of Authenticity (COA), and must have OA 2.X and OA 1.0 (activation of Microsoft Office).
At the same time, OEMs must provide users with a recovery disc that can recover Windows
Victoring
Business/Fairy Edition. If the system does not have an optical drive, the original equipment manufacturer must have a hard disk-based recovery solution. In addition to requiring Windows
Vista
system recovery CDs, Microsoft also requires OEMs to provide a pre-installed Windows
XP recovery solution that can be based on hard disk or CD media.
Each system must have a Windows
Vista
Certified Logo and be certified online by Windows
, and all PCs must be tested against the Windows
Logo Program. OEMs need to inform users and ensure that end users know that they can switch between Windows

XP, but the two systems cannot coexist and the switch needs to uninstall one of them.
