According to the evolution of Windows 2000 to Windows XP, with the current higher machine configuration, Windows Vista's market share will grow very well. And Thunder is our most popular download tool, how can it be better under Vista? Is it possible to guarantee the same high speed and security under Windows XP? What kind of skills will you live in under the new system? Mastering this will be of great benefit to our migration to a new operating system platform.
First, let the network card lightly loaded into the battle
Windows Vista will bundle a lot of protocols on the "local connection" by default, which will bring unnecessary burden. In fact, according to the network principle, the fewer protocols bundled on the network card, the easier it is to “lightly install”, and the speed of Thunder download will naturally be much faster.
Open the Windows Vista "Control Panel", double-click "Network and Sharing Center", click "Manage Network Connection" on the left in the open window, right-click "Local Area Connection" in the open window, select "Properties", Then cancel the corresponding agreement in the open window (Figure 1). In general, the "QoS Packet Scheduler" and "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" can be removed. If you are only on the Internet and do not access a special network, you can also remove the "Link Layer Topology Mapper I/O Driver" and "Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder". If you are not sharing files on the LAN, you can remove the "Microsoft Network Client" and "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks." However, in order to access the Internet, "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" must not be removed.

Second, crack the half-open connection number
Microsoft released Windows XP SP2 increased the TCP simultaneous connection attempt limit and set a small value of 10, the system When the TCP connection attempt exceeds this value, the system will refuse to connect due to security reasons. This problem also exists in Windows Vista, but currently Thunder has not developed such a crack function (Vista is still not very popular). But we can use third-party software to crack, so that Thunder multi-pronged, all the way.

. Then extract the files to a temporary folder, and then double-click Patch32.bat (32-bit Vista platform) or Patch64.bat (64-bit Vista platform) according to your platform, and then press Y to confirm (such as figure 2). Upon completion, a window like the one shown in Figure 3 will pop up, prompting us to restart Windows Vista. With this tool, you can turn off user account control and crack the number of TCP/IP half-open connections. The maximum value is 70000, which is enough for us to download and use.

Tips
If you are using Windows XP, select "Tools" in Thunder 5 → "XP System Optimization Tool", and set the corresponding number of connections in the open window, then click the "Modify Connections" button, set it to a larger value, and then restart the computer.
Three, enjoy the automatic adjustment function of Vista
In Windows Vista, Microsoft introduced a new feature called "Auto Tuning" for TCP/IP. In theory, "Auto Tuning" can be based on network application. Adjust and optimize to increase the network transmission rate. But in many cases, it does not work as expected, especially when the network card uses a third-party driver, and even greatly reduces the network connection rate. However, fortunately, we can open it by hand.
First, log in to the system as an administrator, then press Win+R, enter cmd to start the command line window, and then type in the command line:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
When the run completes return After the word "OK" (as shown in Figure 4), restart the system.

Fourth, let Thunder start full horsepower
Generally speaking, the performance of the machine installed Windows Vista is very good, and some network cards are even 1Gb speed. Therefore, with the increase of network bandwidth and the enhancement of computer computing power, we are entirely possible to let Thunder kick in the horsepower, do not underestimate and waste the core resources and network resources of Vista machines!
First of all, download the latest version of Thunder 5 from http://www.xunlei.com, because the maximum number of tasks for the old Thunder 5 is 10. Then start Thunder 5, select "Tools" → "Configuration", and then select "Connect", you can set the "Maximum number of simultaneous tasks" on the right side, up to 20 (Figure 5). In general, we can set it to 10-15, and the machine with Windows Vista will not have problems.
Figure 5 Set a larger number of simultaneous tasks
Five, do not use the modified version of Thunder
Now there are some modified version of Thunder, many users will download and use. In fact, the current speed is very fast, and a little advertisement is nothing at all. More serious is that the crack version of Thunder has cracked some download restrictions, which is very likely to cause the system's network files to be cracked or Thunder itself files to be cracked, which will cause Thunder itself to make frequent mistakes, causing some resources. Unable to download, or some resources to half of the Thunder caused the Thunder to quit without any reason, after restarting, can no longer find the previously downloaded resources.
Windows Vista has just been released in less than a year, and there are a lot of bugs and vulnerabilities to be fixed, and these are often used by the modified version of Thunder, but also because of modifying your operating system files, causing system vulnerabilities. Open more ports, or consume a lot of network and system resources, which can cause system hacking, data theft, or system crash.
6. Let BT download at high speed under Vista.
Download BT under Vista. Does it feel fast enough? In fact, we only need to use the latest version of Thunder, and open the corresponding service in Vista to support UPnP automatic mapping technology, greatly enhance its download speed.
Right-click "Computer", select "Manage", then click "Services" under "Services and Applications", double-click on SSDP Discovery, click "Startup Type" drop-down on the "General" tab In the list box, select "Automatic" and click the "OK" button to confirm. If this service was previously closed, you can click the Start button to start the service (Figure 6). This way, you can discover network devices and services that use the SSDP discovery protocol, such as UPnP devices.
Figure 6 Open SSDP Discovery Service
After this, we can see that the icon of the "Network" item in the lower left corner of Thunder 5 is already green. After clicking, you can see that UPnP is normal (Figure 7). .
Figure 7 Thunder 5 already supports UPnP
With this technology, LAN users and broadband users can communicate with each other without external public network peers, with stronger penetration and connection. The number is more, the download speed will naturally be faster.
★ Realizing UPnP technology requires router or gateway device support, but most routers and gateway devices support it, and support for UPnP is also a trend, so everyone can rest assured.
Why download speeds will become faster after turning on UPnp
Most enterprise LAN users and users using broadband routers often complain that they are too slow when using BT downloads. The reason for this phenomenon is that LAN users and users using broadband routers use the NAT conversion method to internal network (that is, internal addresses, these addresses are not routable, and cannot directly exchange data with the outside). IP is converted to external. Routing IP Internet access. It can't accept the active connection of the external BT client, so the peers will naturally be much less. Not only can't get data from these peers, and we can't upload data to them. According to the spirit of BT, the less we upload, the slower it will be!
To solve this problem, the general approach is to do port mapping on the router, but this is very troublesome. Except for the network management, it is very difficult for ordinary people to complete. However, the new version of Thunder has now supported the UPnP port to map the port that the Thunder is listening from the gateway or router to the intranet computer. In this way, users in LAN users and routers can actively connect to more external peers, and can also be connected by more peers. With more peers, the speed will naturally be faster. After this operation, is your Thunder running more smoothly in the new system?
