Windows Vista OEM Activation Principle

Because of copyright issues, Vista Home is only used to analyze the principle of OEM activation of Vista, and does not provide any tools and system downloads, please understand.

First of all, let's take a look at Microsoft's mechanism for identifying OEM operating systems. For example, Microsoft has made a mark on the BIOS of Lenovo, Dell and other branded motherboards. With this branded computer, the Windows Vista operating system for this branding is automatically activated and identified as a genuine OEM customer.

Let's take a look at the mechanism:

First, in the Windows Vista system, the OEM adopts the verification mechanism of SLP2.0, and its specific performance is:

1. OEM The manufacturer's factory machine BIOS contains the digital signature of the brand's OEM license certificate. 2. The OEM's factory machine BIOS contains the digital signature of the brand's OEM KEY
3. The operating system contains the corresponding brand. OEM license certificate
4, the installation serial number is the corresponding OEM certificate version of the OEM KEY

If the above four conditions are met, the Vista OEM system is exempt, otherwise, equivalent to the retail version, must be at 30 Activated within days (such as using VIA with COA to activate VISTA).

Now that this mechanism is in place, smart people think that the PCs they assemble should also try to imitate the branded computers with "branding", so that the OEM version of the operating system is not used. Once and for all, become genuine?

The following is the principle of changing the retail version of Windows Vista to the OEM version.

Second, Vista retail version to change the OEM version of the principle and method of activation:

1, restart to pure DOS environment to refresh the BIOS:

AWARD bios type: using phoenix The BIOS tool flashes the BIOS and flushes PUBLICKEY.BIN (public key digital signature) and SLPMARK.BIN into bios. (Restart the BIOS twice)

AMI bios type: The principle is the same as above, the tool uses the special version of AMI tool.

2, normal startup, copy the OEM license to the directory where the VISTA system is located: \\windows\\system32\\

3. Replace the tokens.dat with the OEM version of the tokens with administrator privileges. .dat, note that the version of tokens.dat must correspond to the OEM KEY, that is, HB corresponds to HB, HP corresponds to HP, and U version corresponds to U version.

4. Change the installation serial number and change the KEY to the OEM KEY corresponding to the toekns.dat version.

5, restart! The VISTA retail version has been changed to an OEM version and is free of activation.
