Improve low-end graphics card Aero Glass performance in Vista

The beautiful Aero Glass interface in Windows Vista has won the favor of many users with its crystal clear display. From a mean angle, quite a few users plan to upgrade to Windows Vista, which is not enhanced by Windows Vista. Impressed with features, but because of Aero Glass.

However, there are disadvantages in all things. Aero Glass gives users a better operating experience, but also puts higher requirements on system hardware specifications, especially graphics cards. However, even if the graphics card can meet the hardware requirements of Windows Vista, it will inevitably come at a price in terms of performance. Many users have tested Windows Vista RTM and found that the overall performance of the system is significantly lower than that of Windows XP. Especially when using low-end and mid-range graphics cards that barely meet the specifications of Areo Glass. Many times, in order to ensure the normal use of the system, users have to switch the theme from Areo Glass to Windows Vista Basic. - Of course, this will make Windows Vista lose its most attractive features.

This is obviously not an ideal solution. Is there a compromise solution that maximizes system performance while using the Aero Glass user interface?
Improve the Aero Glass performance of low-end graphics cards

  1. Click "Start" => "Computer" => "System Properties"
  2. In the Properties window, click In the left task panel, click "Advanced System Settings", click OK in the pop-up UAC () confirmation window;
  3. click the "Settings" button in the "Performance" column;
  4. Clear the selection of the following:
    • Animation window when maximizing and minimizing;
    • Enable translucent glass effect; (For a slightly better performance card, you can continue to start the item, after all, this is the most important feature of Aero Glass)
    • Fade in or slide the menu to the view;
    • Fade in the view or slide the toolbar prompt;
    • fade out the menu after clicking;
    • Show the shadow under the menu;
    • Slide to open the combo box;
    • Slide the taskbar button

    • Click “Confirm” to start the setting after the modification.

      This gives you a noticeable performance boost despite a slight loss in visuals.
