Rookie ask: If you install two or three Windows XP systems in a machine with only one hard disk, what should you do? I heard that you have to install a boot software first, I don’t know what it is, thank you!
Master A: If you just want to get multi-language support, then there is no need to install multiple Windows XP, because XP is already a multi-language operating system, you only need to install multi-language package. It is also possible to have multiple Windows XP systems, provided that the hard disk is divided into multiple partitions. In theory, installing two XPs into one partition can be done completely, but in this case, it is necessary to separate various system files, which is not convenient to manage.
As for the specific installation method, Long Ge recommends that you use the full version of Partition Magic, which contains a professional multi-operating system software. In addition, System Commander is also a good choice, it is a tool used in a pure DOS environment, but the program's installer can run in the Windows environment.
Run the Setup.exe program directly, then press any key continuously, switch the description interface, and enter the registration information, you can easily install the software. During the software installation process, the program will suggest to create a machine boot disk provided by the program, including Utility Disk 1 and Restart Disk 2. The former includes the program files for managing the hard disk partition and the backup files. After running directly under DOS, the system interface is entered, and then the operating system to be installed is specified. The latter includes information about the current system boot. If the boot fails due to a power outage or reset during operation, the backup record can be used to restore the boot record of the machine.
However, System Commander also has a disadvantage. For DOS-related reasons, it is best not to use the NTFS disk partition format.
