System failure: Windows XP continuously restarts

Symptom: After the Windows XP startup screen appears on my computer, the computer restarts before the login screen is displayed. Every time, I cannot enter Windows.

Troubleshooting: In general, the cause of this error is that the Kernel32.dll file is missing or corrupted. The solution is to re-extract a new Kernel32.dll file from the Windows XP installation CD using the Windows Recovery Console. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Start the Recovery Console;

Tips

About how to start the Recovery Console and more about the Recovery Console For details, see the 19th issue of 2002, "Catch the last second of the last day: Windows Recovery Console".

Step 2: At the command prompt, type cd system32 and press Enter;

Step 3: Enter ren kernel32.dll kernel32.old and press Enter ;

Step 4: Enter map and press Enter;

Step 5: Pay attention to the drive name of the CD-ROM drive with Windows XP CD. For example, F:, in actual application, please replace it with your actual optical drive letter;

Step 6: Enter expand f:i386kernel32.dl_, and press Enter (kernel32.dl_) l" is followed by an underscore);

Step 7: Enter exit. When the computer restarts, remove the Windows XP CD and let the computer start normally.

Small data

Windows 98 starts up, "Starting Windows 98..." message crashes

One of them may be damaged by DOS boot

Probably due to damage to the DOS boot portion of Windows 98. If there is a boot disk created when Windows 98 is installed, insert the disk into the floppy drive and restart the computer. After booting, enter SYS C: and press Enter (this command is used to transfer the system to the C drive). If the boot disk is not created during installation, you can create a boot disk by going to "Control Panel → Add Delete Program → Create Boot Disk" on other computers. It should be noted that the system version transmitted must be the same as the original system version, otherwise the system will not start.

Possible two: startup file error

After installing some hardware or software, the statements they added in the Config.sys or Autoexec.bat file cause the system to fail to start. Restart the computer, press the F8 key to enter the safe mode before the Windows splash screen appears, then click "Start → Run", enter: msconfig, cancel "Process Config.sys file", "Process Autoexec.bat" in the "General" tab Check the file", and then restart after confirming. Or you can start the system with the boot floppy disk, then enter:

C: (Enter)
rename autoexec.bat autoexec.bak (Enter)
rename config.sys config.bak (back Car)
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart the system.
