WinXP: Solving the problem of mutual visits

There have been many users complaining that computers with Windows XP installed on the LAN cannot access each other with computers with Windows 98 installed. Computers with Windows XP and computers with Windows XP cannot communicate with each other.

I have seen a lot of masters offer the following four points: one is to open the GUEST account; the second is to install the NetBEUI protocol; the third is to check whether the local security policy settings disable the GUEST account; the fourth is to set up sharing folder. However, even if these four points are done, sometimes the problem of mutual access to Windows XP cannot be solved. Because you want to achieve mutual access in Windows XP, you need to set this step:

Right-click "My Computer" on the Windows desktop, select "Properties", and then click the "Computer Name" tab. Check to see if your LAN workgroup name appears in the tab, such as "TL2000". Then click the "Network ID" button to start the "Network Identification Wizard": Click "Next", select "This machine is part of the commercial network, use it to connect to other working computers"; click "Next" Select "Company uses a network without a domain"; click the "Next" button, then enter the name of the workgroup for your LAN, such as "TL2000", click the "Next" button again, and finally click the "Finish" button Complete the setup.

After restarting the computer, computers on the LAN can access each other.
