How to easily retrieve the Windows XP system restore point

In normal times, whether it is data or other issues should be backed up, so that problems can be restored. The system restore function in Windwos XP has indeed solved a lot of problems for us, but sometimes it will encounter the phenomenon of restore function  failed", how to deal with this phenomenon is good. The system restore point that was created before the author installed the game disappeared, and only one system checkpoint was replaced. How is this going? How do we restore the original system restore point?

After the restore point is lost, start “ control panel → management tool → event viewer & rdquo;, view in the event Select “system”, find the information file of the lost restore point, view the properties to see: System Restore service is suspended, because there is not enough disk space on drive C:, once there is at least 200MB free disk on the system drive Space, System Restore will automatically resume the service. Understand the reason for the loss of the restore point, and then it should be restored. The first step is to find a folder named System Volume Information under the root directory of the Windows XP system. The Chinese name can be translated to “system volume label information”. This folder stores the backup information of the system restore.

In the second step, we try to back up the System Volume Information. The easiest way to back up is to copy a copy directly, but considering the maintainability of the backup file, you should use the necessary compression.

In the third step, if the system uses NTFS partitions, we will get a warning if we click on the System Volume Information folder. Because the System Volume Information folder is only accessible to the system by default, even if you are logged in as a member of the Administrators group. To access this folder, you must further set up the folder: right-click on the System Volume Information folder, select “Properties> in the pop-up menu, and select “Security" in the options card. ;, then select “Add” to add visitors to the folder: Administrators and give full control. (As shown in Figure 2. Here, what users can add according to the user name you log in, the user name used by the author belongs to the Administrators group, so the Administrators group is added.)
