An upgraded version of Outlook Express, Outlook Express 6.0, is built into Windows XP. Users simply click the “Start” button, select the “Outlook Express" command from the pop-up menu, or click the Outlook Express icon on the taskbar to launch Outlook Express.
When the user first launches Outlook Express, the “Internet Connection Wizard” dialog box will pop up, which will help users set up Outlook Express email. To set up Outlook Express email, perform the following steps:
(1) Click the “Start” button and select the “Outlook Express” command to pop up the “Internet Connection Wizard” dialog box. As shown in Figure 11.1.
(2) In the dialog box & ldquo; display name & rdquo; text box to enter a user name you want displayed in the email. Click the “Next” button to enter the "Internet Connection Wizard" dialog box, as shown in Figure 11.2.
(3) In the dialog box & ldquo; e-mail address & rdquo; text box, enter the user's e-mail address. After the input is complete, click the “Next” button to open the “Internet Connection Wizard” dialog box, as shown in Figure 11.3.
(4) In the dialog box & ldquo; My incoming mail server & rdquo; drop-down list, select the server name; the & ldquo; receiving e-mail (POP3 or IMAP) server & rdquo; text input box to receive mail The name of the server; enter the name of the service that sent the message in the "Send Mail Server (SMTP)" text box. Note that the content entered in this dialog box is available to the user at the ISP.
(5) After inputting, click the “Next” button to enter the “Internet Connection Wizard” dialog box, as shown in Figure 11.4.
(6) in the dialog box & ldquo; the account name & rdquo; and & ldquo; password & rdquo; text box, enter your ISP account name and password. After the input is complete, click the “Next” button to enter the “Internet Connection Wizard” dialog box, as shown in Figure 11.5.
(7) In the dialog box the way Internet users may choose to connect. Users can choose to “Connect using a phone line”, “Use LAN (LAN) connection” or “Manually establish an Internet connection”. Here is an example of using the “Connect with Phone Line” option for most users.
(8) After setting, click the “Next” button to open the “Internet Connection Wizard” dialog box, as shown in Figure 11.6.
